At Americollect, we take the professional growth of our teammates to heart, which is why one of our core values is “We Develop the Next”. Many teammates embody this value, but we have a teammate who is taking this growth-mindset to their pursuit of continued education.
It’s not uncommon that our teammates continue their higher education while working at Americollect and this particular teammate has utilized their real-world on the job experience to advance towards their degree even faster.
Working towards an Associate’s Degree in Software Development, they were able to use the knowledge and experience gained at Americollect to advance in their studies and save over $800 so far! Recently in addition to other on-the-job experience, they were able to use the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) Certification (which they earned while working for Americollect) and was received from the Project Management Institute (PMI) to satisfy a three-credit requirement towards their degree.
On top of the CAPM Certification, which is one of the many extra training courses our teammates can receive to improve their abilities while working at Americollect, our teammate applied several other areas of their career towards obtaining their degree. They were also able to use employment verification for a Careers in IT credit, their work in compliance and IT for a College 101 credit, and other professional development courses to earn additional credits, which not only puts them closer to obtaining their degree, but also saved them money and time since their real-world experience exempted them from taking courses. Their work experience also allows them to “test out” of classes, speeding up their academic pursuits.
This is not this teammate’s first “We Develop the Next” core value win. Though this teammate is working towards their first college degree, they have already advanced within Americollect, taking on roles with greater responsibilities. Thanks to their desire to learn and improve, Americollect management has been able to foster and encourage this growth through Individual Development Plans and encouraging them to acquire certifications to help them succeed in their career. In addition, they have been able to take advantage of Americollect’s tuition assistance to help reduce the cost of their education.
“We Develop the Next” is more than just one of our values at Americollect. It is a belief that every teammate has the ability to improve themselves personally and professionally. And that’s just Ridiculously Nice.
